A new installment in the series of Famicom Player adapters again enables full compatibility with the latest Nintendo game consoles! This is a great chance to play retro games on your 3DS or switch. The Famicom Player adapter lets you play most games made for NES, Super Famicom, and Super NES by connecting it to an Original Nintendo Entertainment System or an SNES using standard RCA cables. It can also be connected directly to devices like Game Boy Advance, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance SP, Nintendo DS / DS Lite, or Famicon Duo. One of the biggest advantages of this device is that it does not require any specific BIOS in order to run PCs that use emulation software. The only thing you need to do is plug the USB cord into your computer, download the ISO image of your favorite game from Nintendo's official website, and then insert it into the SD card. There are currently two versions of the Famicom Player Adapter - one for SNES games and one for NES games. Both work on PCSX Reloaded 0.9.8, 1.0-1.5, 1.6-1.7, 1.8-1.9 series (Windows) and Linux (Raspberry Pi & SMPS). An improved version of the adapter - Famicom/NES Player Adapter 2.0 - was released at the end of 2016. It is compatible with NES Classic Edition, which uses the same hardware as the previously released NES Classic. The newer adapter has a built-in audio circuit and it supports USB DAC, so you won't need any other cable anymore to connect it to your PC. On March 15, 2018 RetroBit launched Famicom/Nintendo RetroPort for Nintendo Switch to allow users to play original NES cartridges on their system by connecting them via USB. An officially-licensed version of the Famicom Player for RetroArch called Famicom/NES RetroPad was released by Code Hero in late 2018. It is compatible with PCSX Reloaded 1.6 through 1.9 and can be used through Steam game library too. The controller features eight buttons, face buttons, D-pad, start and select buttons, four shoulder buttons, two buttons for zoom in/out on TV or an HDMI output. Several games are already supported . It also includes Bluetooth connectivity so it can be played off TV without cords thanks to the built-in receiver. The player comes preinstalled with "Space Invaders" (version 1) (1989), "Super Mario Bros. 2" (1988), "Contra" (1988), "Bomberman" (1987), "Punch-Out!!" (1987), and "The Legend of Zelda" (1986). On April 13, 2018 RetroBit released the Super Retro Adapter for NES, SNES and Famicom. The adapter is compatible with all 3 systems and features two controllers that can be connected to the Wii U Classic Controller. It also has a built-in audio circuit and USB DAC, so you won't need any other cable anymore if you want to connect it to your PC or Mac. Like Retrbit's first adapter, it does not require any specific BIOS. cfa1e77820
